Purin (プリン) is a popular dessert among kids and adults alike in Japan. The name itself is a shortened version of the "custard pudding". Very similar to flan, it's a custard dessert with a layer of caramel on top. While it can be homemade, it's most populary found in many convenience stores scattered across Japan.
